Introduction to the Library

Release of Print Jobs

on machines Libqx8055color, Libqx8055bw, Libqx7035:

Using any computer:

1.) Make sure there is money in your Pay to Print account (go to https://PayToPrint.kettering.edu)

2.) Send print job to Libqx8055BW, Libqx8055color, or Libqx7035 print queue

Using the NetZtouch Release Station between the Library copiers:

3.) Swipe your Kettering ID card or enter your 9-digit Kettering ID number at the NetZtouch Release Station to release print jobs to the Library copiers.

4.) Select your print job on the touch screen at the NetZtouch Release Station by touching it. Your balance and cost will display at the bottom of the screen once loaded.

5.) Touch the PRINT button to print selected job.

     Touch the DELETE button to delete selected job.

     Touch the EXIT button to log out.

6.) When your print job is finished it will no longer appear on the queue.

Release of Copy Jobs

on machines Libqx8055color, Libqx8055bw, Libqx7035:

Using any computer:

1.) Make sure there is money in your Pay to Print account (go to https://PayToPrint.kettering.edu)

Using the copy printer you want:

2.) Use copier control panel to make your copy request.

Using the NetZtouch Release Station between the Library copiers:

3.) Swipe your Kettering ID card or enter your 9-digit Kettering ID number at the NetZtouch Release Station to release print jobs.

4.) Select your print job on the touch screen at the NetZtouch Release Station by touching it. Your balance and cost will display at the bottom of the screen once loaded.

5.) Touch the PRINT button to print selected job.

     Touch the DELETE button to delete selected job.

     Touch the EXIT button to log out.

6.) When your copy job is finished it will no longer appear on the queue.

Q: Can I print from my own device?

A: The Library print queues Libqx8055color and Libqx7035 can be installed on your personal laptop connected to KUW wireless and the print jobs released from the Library Wireless Print Release Station monitor.  For instructions on installing the printers on your laptop, see this helpsheet:

Q: What is GoPrint?

A: GoPrint is a print release product designed for higher education, libraries, and computer centers, to help eliminate waste, recover costs, and handle printing for user-owned computers.

Q: How do I register for GoPrint?

A: No registration necessary. When print is submitted on a Lab computer or thin client, just log into the GoPrint Web Client from the GO icon on your desktop, (https://goprint.kettering.edu) to see your print job in the queue, select the print job, and click Pay and Print. Use the same account and password you used to log onto the lab computer.

Q: What is the Library NetZ Print Release Station?

A: The library has a NetZ Print Release Station next to the copiers where you can release print jobs sent to the Library printers Libqx8055color and Libqx7035. NOTE: You will need to log into https://GoPrint.kettering.edu one time to create your account in GoPrint and apply your Student Free Print Quota.

Q: What password do I use to log into GoPrint Web Client?

A: Use your Kettering username and password.

Q: How long are print jobs kept?

A: Print jobs left in a user's print queue will be disposed of after two (2) hours.

Q: Why do I have a $25.00 balance?

A: That is the Student Free Print Quota students are allowed each term.  250 black and white pages or 125 color pages.

Q: How much do prints cost?

A: Print jobs are $0.10 a page. If pages are printed on both sides, it is $0.10 for each printed side. Color prints are $0.20 a page. If color pages are printed on both sides, it is $0.20 for each printed side.

Q: Is there a limit on how many pages I can print?

A: The limit is set to 100 pages for each print job.  Print jobs over this size will be deleted.

Q: Why is there a limit on free printing?

A: Extreme waste necessitates a minimal printing charge to reduce waste and promote our green initiative.

Q: How do I add money to my Pay to Print account?

A: Click the "Click here to add funds" link on the GoPrint Web Client web page to be taken to Kettering Printing eAccounts (or go to https://PayToPrint.kettering.edu from any computer), where you can use your Credit or Debit card to put money in you Pay to Print account. NOTE: Be sure to click the MAKE DEPOSIT button on the Confirmation Screen or the transaction will be canceled in 30 minutes.

Q: I just added money to my account. Where is it?

A: On the GoPrint Web Client web page, Click the Next Purse button in the Account Summary box.

Q: Can I get an account balance refund?

A: Any money placed in your Pay to Print account will remain there for your use as long as you are an active student. No Pay to Print account balance refunds can be issued at any time.

Q: How do I request extra funds in my Student Free Print Quota for class requirement?

A: Fill out this form: https://my.kettering.edu/form/student-printing-additional-page-allocation-request-form

Q: How do I request a credit for a bad print out?

A: Requests may be made for bad pages that are printed due to toner problems, printer jams, etc. Print Credit Requests need to be turned in the same/nearest business day to the helpdesk during business hours, with the print job user name, the print queue name, and the date and time the job was printed. The request will be reviewed within 3 business days. If it is determined a credit is owed, then it will be applied to your print account as the same number of print pages. You will get an email concerning the decision.
