Small Engine Repair Source offers assistance in providing routine maintenance (tune-ups, brake service, etc.) as well as extensive repairs (engine and transmission disassembly). Available through the Explora user experience, Small Engine Repair Source allows users to browse by product type, brand, model/engine type, and model numbers. Over 90,000 individual repairs are covered in 450 full-text repair manuals.

The database includes information on more than 25 years of engine models and the full collection of Clymer repair manuals, with new and updated content added regularly. PDF full text is available for all documents.

Searching in Small Engine Repair Source:

Searching in Small Engine Repair Source is easy. There's a box at the top of the homepage where you can enter any relevant keywords. 

 

If you scroll down further on the homepage, you'll find topic suggestions in blue boxes, as shown below. When you click one of these boxes, a new page will open with sub-topics, allowing you to drill down until you get to the exact topic you're looking for. 

 

Once you narrow down your topic, either through the subject boxes, or through a search, you will be shown a list of results. You can click on the image or the title of the document to proceed. 

 

From that page, you will be given the option to view the PDF immediately on the screen (box 1) or download the file (box 2) as shown below. 

 

If you click to access the PDF, the load page has several features for your convenience. Those features are broken down in the image below with a corresponding number.

  1. Download PDF is still available if you want to keep the file.
  2. The headphone logo will switch to audio mode, and the document will be read aloud.
  3. The quotation mark logo takes you to the citation tool, where you can select from 10 citation styles, and the database will correctly format the citation for you. From there, you can copy and paste it into the reference page of your project. 
  4. The printer icon will open a printable document.

 

This is what the citation tool will look like.The first red box is where you will select the style type. The second is the correctly formatted citation in that style.
