The top half of this page contains Windows directions and the bottom half contains the Mac download directions.

Steps for Downloading Software (Windows):

• Go to https://my.kettering.edu/page/endnote
• Click  'Download Link for Windows or Mac'

This will open the EndNote website, where you will choose 'EndNote 2025 for Windows or Mac'

EndNote 25 will begin downloading the installation file through your browser. Click this file to open the installer.

Click Next to start the installation.

You will need to enter a product key (found at https://my.kettering.edu/page/endnote) to proceed. Then click Next.

Enter your name in the box as shown below, then click Next. 

The next step is the ReadMe file. Click Next when you're ready to proceed.

Then the installer will ask you to confirm that you want to agree to the licensing terms. Choose: I accept the license agreement, then click next.

You will then be given the option to do a typical install (most people choose this) or a custom. Click Next to continue.

You will be asked to choose a file destination location. To approve the suggestion, click Next. Or click Browse to choose another (then click Next to proceed).

To begin installation, click Next.

The installer will let you know when it installation is complete. Click Finish. Your full version of EndNote 2025 is available to be used immediately.

• Installation will finish loading and the full version of EndNote will be available on your computer. If you want to save work to utilize on EndNote web, please see the next tab about 'Creating a personal account'.

Steps for Downloading EndNote 2025 Software (MAC):

• Go to https://my.kettering.edu/page/endnote
• Click on the 'Download Link for Windows or Mac'
• The installer with open and click on the EndNote icon to open:

• The final install pop-up is next, click install:

• A warning will pop up, please proceed with open:

• A series of set-up screens will pop up:
• The first will be a 'Welcome to EndNote 2025 window', click 'Next'

• Secondly, 'Install Type' will pop up, go back to this page here for the product key, and then click next:

• Next, you will see a registration page. Please enter your name and 'Kettering University', then click done:

• Next, you will see a 'Read Me' page, scroll to the bottom, and click next:

• Next, you will see a 'license' pop-up, click 'I accept the license agreement', and next:

• Next, you will see a 'Customization' pop-up. The first 4 are checked by default. Click next:

• Finally, you will see an 'installation' page. Click done:

• Installation will finish loading, and the full version of EndNote 2025 will be available on your computer.

• Fill in the following information and Click 'Register'-

• You can now sync your accounts together, so that you can work seamlessly on your Desktop and EndNote Online. 
• You MUST download the desktop version first and then sync accounts in order to have access to the full version
