Using Patient Education Reference Center

Navigating the Patient Education Reference Center Database is very easy. You'll find category tabs at the top of the page to direct your browsing, or you can use the search box just below the tabs to find any keywords you're interested in. Beneath that, you can click on spotlight features to take a look at highlighted resources in the database.

 

If you click on a tab, the pages will open a list of content you can search or browse through. See the example below.

 

 

Once you click the title of the document you wish to read, you will be taken to a page that looks similar to the one below. Some things to look for on the page:

  • Print and Save are at the top right of the page.
  • Languages Available - this will open the document in the selected language. 
  • Contents - you can click the links here to be taken to the different portions of the document
  • Related Information - links to similar conditions/medications as well as discharge documentation for that selected illness

The Patient Education Reference Center is an easy-to-use resource for locating high quality medical information on:

  • 1,100 diseases and conditions
  • 660 procedures and lab tests
  • 1,300 unique drugs with over 2,000 generics
  • 1,900 lifestyle and wellness topics

The handouts available in the Patient Education Reference Center provide easy-to-understand information on multiple topics, including diseases and conditions, procedures and lab tests, wellness and prevention, and more. It also includes discharge and home care information for more than 1,600 topics.
