A how-to of the Kettering & MeL databases

Follow these steps to create a persistent link to share with students and colleagues. 

Once you locate the material you wish to share, click the 3 dots to the right of the title. Then choose "Share" from the drop-down menu. 

A new box will open, where you will click "Create Link." A URL will be generated that can be copied and shared in your syllabus, course shell, or email with students and KU colleagues. 

Using Humanities Source

This database is ideal for students, researchers, and educators interested in all aspects of the humanities. The database features articles, interviews, obituaries, bibliographies, original works of fiction, book reviews, and reviews of ballets, dance programs, motion pictures, musicals, operas, plays and more. Topics covered include: archaeology, art, classical studies, communications, dance, film, folklore, gender studies, history, journalism, linguistics, literary criticism, literature, music, performing arts, philosophy, religion and theology, and social criticism.


Start Search:

Enter any combination of keywords, subject, titles, or author name into the search box on the homepage. 

On your results page, you will find a row of filters that allow you narrow your results down. These include peer-review, full text, resource type, and publication date range.

You can access the PDF of the resource by clicking the button beneath the title info that says either "PDF Full Text," "Online Full Text," or "Access Options." The access options button will have a drop-down where you can choose the PDF, as shown below. 

The PDF will have options for printing and saving, usually near the top right of the page.
