A how-to of the Kettering & MeL databases

Applied Science and Technology Source

To create a persistent link to the resource, click the title of the article you want to share while in the database. Once that page loads, click the arrow to the top right.

A new box will open once you click the share arrow. Then click "Create link" to open a URL beneath the link. Copy the link and share with other Kettering users.

Using Applied Science and technology Source

This database offers a diverse array of full-text, peer-reviewed, and indexed content covering the full spectrum of the applied sciences and computing disciplines - from acoustics to aeronautics, neural networks to nuclear engineering.

The database homepage has a search box in the middle of the page. You can search any combination of keywords, titles, or author name.

On the results page, there are several filters in drop-down menus. These include:

  • All filters (contains the filters below, plus subject, publisher, language, and more)
  • Linked full text
  • Peer review
  • All time (publication date range)
  • Source type (includes journal articles, books, chapters, etc.)

Additionally, above each title, you will see what type of resource it is.

When you find a resource you're interested in, there may be different options of accessing it.

  • "Linked Full Text" means the PDF is not located in this database, but is still able to be accessed.
  • "Access Options" is a drop-down menu that allows you to choose the article's full text PDF and other options.
