Instructions for editing your profile:
Log in and edit your profile using this URL: https://Kettering.elsevierpure.com/admin. This will take you through the normal blue Kettering authentication login page if you are not already logged in. You can also scroll to the bottom of our public portal where you'll find a link in the footer that says "Log in to Pure" as shown below.
Once logged in, you will see your image at the top left of the page. Depending on where you are accessing the account (the admin link above or the public platform), your page will look like one of these. Either option requires clicking "Edit Profile" to open the profile editor. The image with the white background is the admin portal, while the page image with the blue header is the public profile.
The profile editor will open a new browser tab or window. Let's work through the first set of options below.
This section has some important options to look over, particularly with your name and variations of it.
We ask that you do NOT edit existing IDs on your account. However, there are several other IDs you can add, such as your Mendeley ID or Scopus ID, by clicking the "Add ID" button to open the menu as shown in the second image below.
Add your 16-digit ORCID ID number and a link will be generated on your public profile, allowing viewers to visit your ORCID page directly.
To change the photo on your profile, click "Edit" to the right of the file name. If you don't have an image on your profile, click the "Add Image" bubble. The photo below shows you what the menu will look like. To ensure your photo shows on your profile, choose "Portrait" from the drop-down menu. Be sure to click the blue "Create" button when you are finished adding your image information.
Add Links to your profile to other sites, such as your LinkedIn profile, social media, personal or professional blogs/websites, etc. Under the blue Links heading, click "Add Link" to enter the URL and text to display, and choose from the drop-down menu to indicate what kind of site you are linking to. Some of the options will display a clickable icon for that site that will take users to your profile. You can leave the selection as "No value" if your link doesn't correspond to the pre-set options. Be sure to click "Create" when you are done.
Add dates to the next row for the "Start date as an independent researcher" box if you choose.
Under "Associated documents," click "Add document" to open the menu. This is where you can add a CV or other document that you would like users to be able to view on your profile. You can only add one document for each menu option.
You can have an "About" section, as well as a variety of subheadings beneath it. For each subheading you wish to add, you must create a new section using the "Add profile information" button to open the menu. Be sure to save as you go. If you have text in this section that you would like to change, click the "Edit" button to the right of the text.
The menu that opens when you click to add profile information will have a long list to scroll through for additional headings.
