Creating persistent links:
To share a persistent link from Statista, you will need to add Kettering University's proxy to ensure all users both on and off campus can access it.
To do so, first, copy the URL that appears in the search bar for the resource you wish to share, which in this case is:
Next, add Kettering University's proxy BEFORE the URL as shown below:
https://kettering.idm.oclc.org/login?url= added to
https://subscriptions.techstreet.com/products/908679 equals your new persistent link:
https://kettering.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://subscriptions.techstreet.com/products/908679
There are two ways to access subscribed standards on the TechStreet Enterprise platform:
After choosing a standard, you will see an option at the bottom of the screen to either download or view online, as shown below:
If you want to VIEW ONLINE,
TechStreet has recently released an online viewer that allows you to view the entire standard immediately without downloading it. You also do not need a PDF reader or download the FileOpen software.
If you want to DOWNLOAD,
You must first ensure that a PDF reader, such as Adobe or FoxIt PDF, is installed on your computer (FoxIt is the default PDF reader on Kettering computers). Additionally, most of the standards are Digitial Rights Management (DRM) encrypted, meaning you must download the FileOpen plug-in (FoxIt may prompt you to install the FileOpen add-on; from there, all you have to do is click the 'Yes' button, and the file will open). If you're having issues, please visit the Help Center page.
Once FileOpen is downloaded and you go to download the standard PDF, be mindful that FileOpen only supports specific PDF readers, such as Adobe or Foxit (not browser-based). You can read more about that here.
The PDF will also have DRM restrictions, such as the inability to edit/rename, print, share the file, etc. The restrictions vary by the publisher. You can read more about secure PDFs in this Help Center Subpage. If you would like to learn more about DRM in general, see this page here.
The end-user license agreement from Techstreet is available here: https://subscriptions.techstreet.com/terms_of_use. Please do not share the file with others outside of Kettering, as this will violate our license agreement.
Additionally, we already have access to the following standards directly through these vendors:
If you need access to any additional standards or assistance with searching, please email library@kettering.edu.
