A how-to of the Kettering & MeL databases

PubMed

Using PubMed

PubMed is a large database containing over 29 million citations from MEDLINE in the areas of health and biomedicine, behavioral sciences, chemical sciences, and bioengineering. Kettering University subscribes to multiple database vendors, allowing students and faculty to access full text articles through the PubMed portal. Many articles on PubMed can also be accessed for free by the public.

PubMed also provides links to useful web sites and resources through the National Center for Biotechnology Information.

To search PubMed, input your query into the search bar located at the top of the screen, or select advanced search for more limiters.

Narrowing Results

Because PubMed provides access to numerous resources, you may find it necessary to narrow your results. Please see the following tutorial with tips on narrowing your search.
